The Cheatham County School District has named Dr. Audra Fowler as the new academic specialist at Kingston Springs Elementary School.

Fowler has served as the dean of students at Cheatham County Central High School since 2014.

A 2003 graduate of Harpeth High School, Fowler majored in History, minored in Education and received her teacher certification at Belmont University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. She also received a Master of Arts in Teaching from Belmont. In May 2018, she earned her Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Carson Newman University.

Fowler began her Cheatham County teaching career in 2008 at Sycamore Middle School, where she taught eighth-grade Social Studies. Before joining the CCCHS staff, she taught eighth-grade Social Studies at Cheatham Middle School.

Fowler said, “My first memory of Kingston Springs Elementary School began as a second-grader, listening to Principal Davidson’s announcement, ‘Students, always remember before you speak … is it kind, is it true and is it necessary.’ This slogan has always stayed in my mind as I followed my path into education.”

She continued, “I am a proud native of Cheatham County, and I have had the privilege to serve at SMS, CMS and CCCHS. I now have, what I consider family all over the county. I am so grateful for all the mentors and colleagues that I’ve learned from through my time spent at each school. I am specifically thankful for the CCCHS students, faculty and staff. They will never know just how much they have impacted my life. I would not be who I am today without their love and support. I will use the experiences I gained at CCCHS for the rest of my career.”

“My cup is now running over with excitement to begin this new journey, returning to Kingston Springs Elementary School. I am proud to be a Cardinal again," she said.

Fowler will continue to serve as the CCCHS golf coach.

A new dean of students at CCCHS will be named at a future date.
